TENNIS CENTER ACES USTA OUTSTANDING FACILITY AWARD

The Palm Coast Tennis Center was selected this week by the United States Tennis Association as a National 2010 USTA Outstanding Facility. This prestigious award recognizes the Center's quality, well-rounded programming and instruction, league and social play, court conditions and design, charitable projects, dedication to 'Green' considerations and growing the game initiatives.

"To be nominated was a privilege, but to win the award is an unprecedented honor," says Ken Obermeier, Tennis Superintendent for the Palm Coast Tennis Center. "The award is a tribute to our passionate and active tennis community who help to make our facility such a special place in which to play."

The Palm Coast Tennis Center welcomes over 600 players to enjoy its ten quality HydroGrid clay courts every week, year 'round. Regulars, from ages three to ninety-three, participate in energetic clinics, with at least ten offered for adults and six for juniors. The Tennis Center hosts an Annual Men's Pro Circuit Futures Championship and a Junior Futures Championship and organizes monthly tournaments, socials and round robins.

With their rich history in professional and amateur tennis, the USTA's choice to name the City's new Tennis Center as a National Outstanding Facility signifies that Palm Coast has come full circle in their commitment to provide an excellent recreational product for the community.

"Our Mayor, City Council and community tennis organizations have been prominent supporters of the Tennis Center from its very inception," Ken notes. "All of us are so proud that the United States Tennis Association recognizes our efforts and places us on a national level of distinction."
