CITY SERVES UP FIRST ANNUAL SEAFOOD FEST

It's going to be a whale of an event! The City of Palm Coast, along with partner WNZF/Beach Radio, will be cooking up Flagler's First Annual Seafood Festival to be held in Central Park in Town Center on Saturday and Sunday, November 6 & 7.

Delicious cuisine from favorite seafood restaurants will draw thousands of visitors on both days, with local eateries offering some of their most scrumptious seafood. First, season this weekend extravaganza with continuing live musical entertainment, highlighted by Saturday Night's 'Rockin' Oldies Under the Stars' (decades of country/rock). Next, stir in a multitude of kids' games, add a dash of fishing, fold in a car show, a K9 Frisbee dog exhibition, art show, food demos and the National Association of Crab Racing's hermit crab races...and you've got the makings of a fabulous festival!

Event hours are noon to 10:00pm on Saturday, November 6th and noon to 6:00pm on Sunday, November 7th. Food vendor booths and exhibitor tables for all local businesses are available for both days. Please participate and help to make this first seafood event a huge success!
CITY COMMEMORATES SEPTEMBER 11th

At 8:46 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, American Airlines Flight #11 crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City and at 9:03 a.m., United Flight #175 plunged into the south tower. Thirty-five minutes later, American Airlines Flight #77 exploded into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and at 10:03 a.m., United Airlines Flight #93 tumbled into an empty field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. On that terrifying morning, this series of suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda on the United States of America murdered 2,974 American victims. The event forever altered the way Americans view terrorism and the assumed safety in their daily lives.

To commemorate these horrifying events and to unite our patriotism while we continue to fight international terrorism, the City of Palm Coast and the Red Knights of Palm Coast will host a commemorative event on Saturday, September 11th. Seating will start at 9:30 a.m. at Heroes Park and the program will begin at 9:59 a.m. to coincide with the collapse of the first World Trade Center Tower. Guests will hear an invocation, speeches and presentations from local officials, agencies and the New York City Fire Department.

An escorted motorcycle ride will follow the Heroes Park program, traveling through St. John's, Volusia and Flagler Counties and culminating at the White Eagle Lounge at Old Dixie Rd. and US1. Registration for the escorted ride will be held at Heroes Park, beginning at 8:45 a. m. Heroes Park is located one-half mile west of the Flagler County Library on Palm Coast Parkway westbound. Parking will be available at the Flagler Technical Institute and Roma Court, across Palm Coast Parkway from Heroes Park. Plan to join your fellow Palm Coast citizens so together we ensure that the lessons of September 11th will never be forgotten. For more information about the Memorial Motorcycle Ride, please contact Joe Vece at 386-446-2410.

Following clean-up and trash drop-off efforts, volunteers are invited back to Holland Park to enjoy snacks and beverages provided by Publix, and participate in a special awards ceremony to recognize those who found the most unique 'trash'.
